Natasha’s Law, built in
DineKit is a free, open-source WordPress plugin that shows all 14 UK allergens on every dish, prints a staff-and-inspector allergen matrix in one click, and lets diners filter your allergen menu before they order — all on your own website, no monthly fee.
Natasha’s Law is the name given to the Food Information (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2019, in force since 1 October 2021. It was introduced after the death of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, a teenager who suffered a fatal allergic reaction to a pre-packed sandwich that carried no ingredient or allergen labelling. The law requires food that is prepacked for direct sale (PPDS) — think sandwiches, cakes and salads made and packed on-site, then sold from the same premises — to display a full ingredient list with the 14 major allergens clearly emphasised.
Separately, since 2014 every UK food business — cafes, restaurants, takeaways and bakeries alike — has had a legal duty under the Food Information Regulations to tell customers, on request or in writing, whether a dish contains any of the 14 legally-recognised allergens. Natasha’s Law tightened the rules specifically for PPDS food; the wider 14-allergen disclosure duty applies to everything you serve, dine-in or takeaway.
DineKit was built with both of these in mind: a menu system where every dish can be tagged against all 14 allergens, printed as a matrix for your kitchen and front of house, and filtered by diners themselves.
DineKit helps you present allergen information clearly and consistently — it does not replace your legal responsibility. You must verify every ingredient with your suppliers and keep your own allergen data accurate and up to date; DineKit is a presentation tool, not a substitute for due diligence.

Tag every dish against celery, cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soya and sulphites — with clear icons diners recognise at a glance.
Generate a full dish-by-allergen matrix for your kitchen, front of house and food safety inspectors — printed or PDF, always matching what’s live on your menu.
Guests can filter your menu to show only what’s safe for them, or hide dishes containing an allergen they need to avoid — vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free filters too.
Your menu is marked up with structured data automatically, helping Google understand and show your dishes, prices and allergen information in search.
Print-ready QR table cards take diners straight to your live, filterable allergen menu on their own phone — before they’ve even ordered.
