Menus your customers can actually read

DineKit renders clean, structured menus that load instantly and adapt to your theme. No clunky PDFs, no pinch-to-zoom.

  • Sections for starters, mains, desserts and more
  • Multiple prices per item (e.g. regular & large)
  • Photos, “Popular” and “Chef’s special” badges
  • Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dietary tags
  • Seven designer templates — Signature, Maison, Counter, Noir, Bistro, Fresh, Mono — across three layouts (list, cards, chalkboard)
  • A click-to-style Design Studio: click any element in the live preview and set its colour, size and rounding
  • Per-menu designs — Lunch as a clean list, Christmas as a dark poster; menus you haven’t styled keep following your house style
  • One-click looks — Gallery photo cards, Classic list or Chalk wall applied in a single tap
  • A photo and a video banner on any section — show the smoker working above the BBQ dishes
  • Sections are optional: a six-dish café menu renders as a clean flat list, and each menu owns its own sections

How to build your menu in WordPress

From a blank install to a published, shareable menu in about ten minutes — no code, no page builder.

  1. Install DineKit free from the WordPress plugin directory and activate it. There’s nothing to buy and no WooCommerce to set up first.
  2. Add your sections and dishes — type them in, or paste your existing menu straight from a spreadsheet. Each dish takes a description, one or more prices, a photo, dietary tags and allergens.
  3. Pick a look in the Design Studio — choose one of the seven templates and three layouts, or click any element in the live preview to fine-tune its colour, size and rounding. Give different menus different looks if you like.
  4. Publish it anywhere — drop the menu on any page, and generate a QR code for the table. Update a price or add a special and the change is live instantly, on the page and behind the QR code.

Built to be found, not just seen

Every menu ships with Menu and MenuItem schema so search engines can read your dishes and prices — something competitors charge extra for.

Blazing fast

No jQuery, tiny CSS, no external fonts. Your menu page stays quick even on cheap hosting.

Easy to edit

Drag-and-drop ordering and inline price editing. Update your menu in seconds.

📊

Spreadsheet in, spreadsheet out

Export the whole menu to CSV — hidden dishes, photos, prices and allergens included — edit it in Excel or Sheets, and import it back. Dishes are matched by ID, so importing never duplicates or deletes.

Common questions

Is the menu builder really free?
Yes — unlimited menus and items, all seven templates and three layouts, Menu schema, dietary tags and allergens are in the free core plugin. There’s no monthly fee, no per-item charge and no locked “pro” tier to unlock the basics.
Do I need WooCommerce?
No. DineKit is fully self-contained and works on a bare WordPress install — no WooCommerce, no page builder and no other plugin required to build and publish a menu.
Is this a restaurant menu plugin or a graphic menu maker?
It’s a restaurant menu plugin for WordPress. Rather than designing a printable poster, DineKit publishes a live, structured menu on your own website — one you update yourself in seconds, that carries allergen and dietary data, and that Google can read. If you want a menu that works on your site and behind a QR code at the table, that’s exactly what this does.
Can I import my existing menu from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Export a starter CSV, fill it in (or paste in the menu you already keep in Excel or Google Sheets) and import it back — dishes, descriptions, prices, dietary tags, allergens, calories, photos and whether each dish is published. Re-importing matches dishes by ID, so you can edit and re-upload as often as you like without creating duplicates, and an import never deletes anything.
Does it handle allergens and dietary tags?
Yes. Tag each dish with the UK’s 14 statutory allergens and dietary labels like vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. Diners can filter the menu by what they need to avoid, and you can print an allergen matrix for the kitchen. See the allergen menu feature for the full detail.
Can I turn the menu into a QR code?
Yes. Every published menu can be shared as a QR code menu for tables and windows — and because it points at a page you control, you update the menu without ever reprinting the code.
Will it match my theme?
Yes. The menu inherits your theme’s fonts and adapts its colours, and you can fine-tune every element in the Design Studio or with a single accent variable.
