Restaurant questions, answered

Is DineKit really free?

Yes. The menu builder, QR code menus, all 14 UK allergens with a printable matrix, and opening hours are free to use today. DineKit is open-source and self-hosted on your own WordPress site, so there are no monthly fees and you own your data.

Do I need WooCommerce or any other plugin?

No. DineKit runs on your existing WordPress site on its own — no WooCommerce, no paid add-ons. If you already have a website, you can be up and running with a live menu the same day.

Can guests book a table or order online through it?

Not yet. Table bookings and commission-free online ordering are on the roadmap Coming soon, along with staff scheduling and delivery. The aim is that you’ll eventually run everything from your own site with no commission to a third party. See the roadmap for what’s coming. For now, the menu, allergens, QR codes and hours are all live and free.
