DineKit Has Been Featured by WordPress.org
July 24, 2026 · 2 min read
Some news we’re genuinely proud of: DineKit has been hand-picked by the WordPress.org team as a Featured plugin — appearing in the Featured tab that greets millions of site owners the moment they open Plugins → Add New in their WordPress dashboard.
For a plugin that only landed on WordPress.org a few weeks ago, built by a small independent team, that’s about the best endorsement we could have hoped for. WordPress powers over 40% of the web, and the Featured list is a short, human-curated shortlist — not an advert you can buy. Someone at WordPress.org looked at DineKit and decided it was worth putting in front of everyone. 🎉
What “Featured” actually means
When you go to add a new plugin inside WordPress, the very first thing you see is the Featured tab — a small, rotating selection chosen by the WordPress.org plugins team. It sits ahead of the millions of plugins in the directory precisely because it’s curated by hand rather than ranked by an algorithm.
Being placed there is an editorial thumbs-up: a signal to restaurant and café owners everywhere that DineKit is a plugin worth their trust. We didn’t pay for it, and we couldn’t have — that’s exactly why it means so much.
Why it matters if you run a restaurant
DineKit exists to give hospitality businesses back control of their own front of house — without the monthly subscriptions and per-cover commissions that quietly eat your profit. One free plugin gives you:
- Beautiful menus with photos, dietary tags and multiple prices
- UK allergen labelling built in — all 14 allergens, Natasha’s Law ready
- Print-ready QR table cards that always point to your live menu
- Table bookings, commission-free ordering and card payments on your own site
- A full point of sale, staff rotas and a guest CRM
All of it runs on your own WordPress website. No SaaS lock-in, no per-order cut, and your menu and customer data stay yours. Being featured tells us the WordPress community sees the value in that too.
Thank you
To everyone who has installed DineKit, sent feedback, or simply cheered us on — thank you. This is a milestone for a young project, and it makes us more determined to keep the core free, keep it fast, and keep building the tools restaurants actually need.
If you’ve not tried it yet, there’s never been a better moment. You can install DineKit straight from your WordPress dashboard, or grab it from the directory below.
